After major construction projects in recent years, Hamburg Airport has become one of the most beautiful and comfortable airports in all of Europe, and its proximity to the city makes it even more attractive. Unlike many other major airports, it is conveniently located only about 8.5 kilometers from the city center. From the airport, the UKE can be reached in approximately 20 minutes. A taxi ride costs about €15.
Hamburg is easily accessible via the four main-line stations Hamburg Hauptbahnhof (Engl.: central station), Hamburg Dammtor, Hamburg-Altona and Hamburg-Harburg, which are integrated into the InterCityExpress network. From Dammtor station and the central station, the UKE can be reached in about 15 minutes. A taxi ride costs approximately €12.
Hamburg is a traffic hub, easily accessible via the A7 (North/South), A1 (Bremen-Lübeck), A24 (Hamburg-Berlin) and A23 (Hamburg-North Frisia). Via Martinistraße the UKE can be reached in approximately 20 minutes from all highways. The hospital offers a four-story parking garage.
