Our University Heart & Vascular Center Hamburg (UHC) under the direction of Professor Dr. Stefan Blankenberg includes the Clinics of Cardiology, Heart and Vascular Surgery, Vascular Medicine as well as the Clinic for Children's Heart Medicine.
Interdisciplinarity is very important at the UHC. Our teams work hand in hand. Joint case reviews ensure the development of individual treatment regimens for our patients.
Our integrated approach combines patient-oriented care with excellent high-tech medicine. The research conducted at our heart center ensures continuous medical innovation and is recognized internationally.
The UHC offers excellent medical service, pleasant accommodation in a comfortable environment, and friendly, compassionate care. Every year the UHZ treats more than 10,200 inpatients with cardiovascular diseases on a high scientific university level. The UCH is one of few German institutions offering diagnosis and treatment of all cardiovascular diseases of adults and children.
In addition to patient care the UHC engages in intensive research, which is an important prerequisite for medical progress. Other focus areas are the teaching of students and the training of doctors.
The UHC has 270 beds and treats approximately 10,200 inpatients annually. In Hamburg, heart and lung transplants, combined heart-lung transplants, and treatment of children with heart diseases are only possible at the UHC.
