Hubertus Wald Tumor Center / University Cancer Center Hamburg (UCCH)

Welcome to the University Cancer Center Hamburg!

The University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) looks back on a long tradition of interdisciplinary cancer treatment. It has been our experience that intense collaboration of all disciplines involved is the basic prerequisite for optimal outpatient and inpatient medical treatment of cancer.

With the foundation of the University Cancer Center (UCCH) in 2007 we established an organizational and infrastructural framework for such a collaboration. The UCCH has since been responsible for basic management tasks in the network of clinical oncology and cancer research at the UKE.

The UCCH is the central cancer center at the UKE, a hub for all cancer treatment and cancer research facilities of our institution. We are one of eleven centers in Germany designated "Center of Excellence in Oncology" by Deutsche Krebshilfe (Engl.: German Cancer Aid). People threatened by cancer are at the heart of the mission of the UCCH. We concentrate our efforts on four areas:

  • comprehensive treatment of our patients using state-of-the-art medical procedures
  • psychological care and support of our patients and their families
  • research and development of new therapies through integrated clinical and laboratory research
  • promotion and development of measures for preventing cancer and long-term effects of cancer treatment

Our goal is to ensure high-quality care and state-of-the-art cancer treatment in the interest of the patient. On the linked pages you will find more information about our individual areas of expertise.

Please direct your treatment request to the UKE International Office.

The UCCH is certified as Center of Excellence in Oncology according to the directives of German Cancer Aid Society (Deutsche Krebsgesellschaft, DKG) and the Society for Hematology and medical Oncology (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Hämatologie und Medizinische Onkologie e.V., DGHO).
